I like that these are make with fresh apple instead of canned pie filling. You certainly can use canned filling if you like but fresh apple is so much better and gives you a much nicer flavor. Cutting up the fresh apple should only take a few extra minutes and is so worth the little bit of extra time. 

 

 

 

 

Crescent rolls come in handy in so many ways these days. When I think that for years all we did was bake them and spread butter on them and used them as bread! WOW where we missing out. Now they are used for so many sweet and savory dishes.  

 

These awesome Caramel Apple Pie Crescents are the easiest dessert recipe you will probably ever make. We have made these for parties, potlucks and holidays and have always gotten rave reviews. 

 

These are best eaten when they are warm so if you have any leftover you can warm them up easily in the toaster oven.  You can also half this recipe very easily and of course double it also. 

Let’s show you how simple it is to make these Caramel Apple Pie Crescents

Ingredients:

3 to 4 apples (your choice), cored, halved, and sliced thin

2 (8 ounce) cans crescent rolls

3 tablespoons sugar

2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

Juice of 1/2 lemon

25 caramels, unwrapped

1 to 2 teaspoons water

 

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Mix together sugar and cinnamon in small bowl. Reserve about 1 tablespoon of mixture for dusting the crescents.

Core and slice apples. Place in mixing bowl and toss together with remaining sugar and cinnamon mixture. Pour lemon juice over apples and toss again. Set aside for about 10 minutes to allow apples to begin breaking down.

Unroll crescent dough and separate triangles.

Place sliced apples on large end of triangle. Top with on unwrapped caramel and carefully roll up, keeping the apples inside the dough.

 Sprinkle crescents with remaining sugar and cinnamon mixture.

Roll from large end of the crescent to the point of the triangle.

Bake for 13 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove from oven. In a small bowl, add remaining caramels and 1 teaspoon water. Microwave on high in 30 second increments, stirring well between each cycle, until melted. Add additional water if needed to reach drizzling consistency. Drizzle caramel over each crescent and serve warm.
