This is the best pancake recipe I’ve ever eaten. These are really easy to make, and you can have them ready to pop on the griddle in no time.
They’re light and fluffy and a little crispy around the edges, and loaded with mini chocolate chips. You get that burst of delicious chocolate melting in your mouth, with the savory flavor of pancakes and sweet syrup, and you can’t stop eating them.
Tips for making the best pancakes
- The most important thing to remember when making pancakes is do not over mix the batter! If you over mix the batter the pancakes will be dense causing the pancakes to be flat and heavy instead of fluffy.
- The pancake batter should be thick enough so that it doesn’t spread completely flat on the griddle or pan. If it’s too thin, add a tablespoon of flour and gently mix it. If the batter is too thick, add a little more milk until you get just the right consistency.

I must say even though I love chocolate I really favor the white pancakes with the chocolate chips best. Everyone seems to have a favorite they love best.
The great thing about these pancakes is if you have company of if it’s a Holiday breakfast of brunch make a double batch and let everyone dig in!
The pancakes are perfect served with pure maple syrup but you can also just use some butter and fresh fruit such as strawberries.
There is so much flavor from the chocolate and sweetness from the chocolate chips you may not want to use maple syrup. We always add some pure maple syrup because it really ties all the flavors in together!
