The best Pecan Pie Bars……..
Well, let me tell you a little story.
I started making Pecan Pie Bars over 30 years ago. The recipe I used back then was delicious. I’m talking, rock your world kind of delicious, not simply run of the mill kind of delicious. I was almost famous for making those bars. They were on every Christmas cookie plate I gave out and the recipe was always requested.
Then for some reason I decided to try a new recipe. That, in and of itself, was strange because generally when I have a recipe I really love I don’t even consider trying a new one. Well, for some reason I tried this recipe and, well, all I can say is that it was mind blowing!
Mind blowing delicious! It was truly even more delicious than the rock your world delicious recipe of the past. So, in my ever so humble opinion, these are The Best Pecan Pie Bars in the entire world!
This recipe uses a total of 2 1/4 cups Pecans.
Toast them all at the same time on a rimmed baking sheet in a 350 degree oven for about 8 minutes before you begin making the bars.
When you have the crust baking in the oven, start making the filling.
The recipe calls for the filling to be poured on the crust while it’s hot, then baking again to set the filling.
Make sure you cool these completely before cutting them.
