Valentine's English Toffee

This toffee recipe is actually quite simple but you do need to make certain that you’re paying attention to the heater temperatures to make the toffee consistency. We highly suggest using a candy thermometer to make certain that you’re getting it to that perfect temperature.

What is the most important thing to remember when you are baking any recipe?

Valentine's English Toffee

Valentine’s Day Toffee is so yummy!!

This toffee is sweet and buttery and perfectly covered with chocolate and although we chose not to add nuts to ours this time you certainly can. What kind of nuts can you use? Our favorites are sliced almonds and walnuts. You can of course use whatever your favors are. A mix works out well too. Who’s to say what’s right or wrong when it comes

There is nothing like homemade toffee. I know there are toffee recipes that say they don’t require a candy thermometer but believe me unless it’s the cracker recipe you will want to use the a candy thermometer. It will ensure you will get a crisp and crunchy buttery toffee. We have made this for a party and it has been gobbled up in no time!

WHAT INGREDIENTS DO I NEED FOR VALENTINE’S DAY TOFFEE?

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 sticks butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • Sprinkles
  • Pink cookie icing
  • Nuts of your choice if you like

Do I have to melt the chocolate chips before putting them on?

You actually don’t! The butter and sugar are so hot that once you spread it out and put the chocolate chips on top, it actually melts them that way with ease. The only part that you then have to do is spread out the chocolate so it covers the entire top of the dessert. Pretty easy, right?!

How long does it take for this Valentine’s English Toffee to harden?

There are a few ways that you can actually go about hardening the toffee. The first is to put it in your fridge and let it “set up” for a couple of hours. This is the quickest route to get it hardened.

The other way is to cover it and let it sit for 24 hours or overnight. The question is can you wait that long?!

What’s the easiest way to break the toffee into pieces?

Honesty, I just tap into it with a spoon or spatula and let it crack. It’s not hard to crack it and whatever method you want to use in breaking it is going to be totally fine. You’ll have a wide variety of sizes to choose from once you break it down.

This Valentines English Toffee is a super simple and sweet recipe that you can make up for your sweetie. With the red and pink fun colors, it’s the perfect recipe to whip up for Valentine’s Day!
