½cupbread crumbs
¼cupgrated parmesan cheese
1tablespoonItalian seasoning
Instructions
Lay the pickles in a single layer on a paper towel and pat dry.
In a small bowl, add the flour
In a separate small bowl add the egg and water; whisk until combined.
In the last bowl, add the breadcrumbs, parmesan and italian seasoning.
Dip each pickle into the flour, then the egg, and lastly the breadcrumbs
Repeat until all pickles are coated.
Lay pickles in a single layer in the air fryer and cook at 400 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes, or until crispy.
Allow to slightly cool before serving with dipping sauce.
Notes
Always preheat your air fryer. It's a total myth that they don't have to be preheated.
When dredging your pickles, gently shake them to remove any excess coating.
Spray the air fryer basket well with nonstick cooking spray so that your breaded pickles do not stick.
Serve with your favorite dipping sauce. I like to serve with ranch dressing, but you also serve with french onion dip, ketchup, horseradish, blue cheese, hot sauce, or honey mustard.
For a low-carb option, you can replace the breadcrumbs with pork rinds and the flour with almond flour for a crispy keto option.
Make sure to dip pickles completely in the egg wash so that the flour mixture will stick.
