12lbspork shoulder butt roast
1bottle BBQ sauce
3cupsbrown sugar
¼cuponion powder
¼cupgarlic powder
¼cuppaprika
¼cupsalt
3tspcayenne pepper
3tspblack pepper
1tspground thyme
1tspdill
⅓cup vinegar
⅓cupwater
3tbspliquid smoke
Instructions
Rinse meat under water, this will allow the rub stick better.To make the rub, add brown sugar, onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, cayenne, black pepper, salt, thyme, and dill all together in a large mixing bowl. Stir together.Place meat on cutting board and add rub with hands. Be sure to cover the entire outside of the roast.Next, place 1/3 cup water , 1/3 cup vinegar and 3 tbsp of liquid smoke to the slow cooker.Place seasoned meat into the slow cooker and cover with lid.Set the slow cooker time on LOW and cook for roughly 10-12 hours.After it’s done cooking, drain all the extra fat and water from the cooker.Use a set of tongs to pull the roast apart, into long shreds.Add ½ to full bottle of BBQ sauce and mix thoroughly.Serve and Enjoy!
