Ingredients

  • 3 large eggs
  • cup water
  • ¾ cup hot sauce
  • 2 cups self rising flour
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 ½ -2 lb.  chicken, uncooked cut into pieces or you can use thighs, legs or bone in chicken breasts ( I cut the bone in breasts in half if they are large)

  • peanut oil

House Seasoning

  • 1 cup salt
  • ½ cup black pepper
  • ½ cup garlic powder

Instructions

  • House Seasoning:

    1. Mix together salt, ground black pepper, and garlic powder in a bowl

    Chicken:
    1.  Beat eggs and water in a medium bowl. Add hot sauce and stir until combined. Mix flour and 1 tsp. pepper in a separate bowl.

    2. Season chicken pieces with a couple of tablespoons of the house seasoning. Dip seasoned chicken in egg mixture and then coat with the flour mixture.

    3. In a deep pot, heat oil to 350 degrees F.  Fry chicken for about 10 minutes (for chicken legs) or until brown and crisp. Large pieces of chicken will take longer to cook. Check the internal temperature with a meat thermometer to make certain it's cooked all the way through

    Serve hot and enjoy!
