Classic Sugar Cookies

Classic Sugar Cookies – Everyone should have a classic sugar cookie recipe. This is mine. It is great for any occasion. Change out the sprinkles or sparkles for the holiday or occasion your making them for. They are everyone’s favorite cookie!

Sprinkle sugar cookies are a fun and easy recipe for birthdays, Christmas and any holiday when you need a colorful cookie that doesn’t require a lot of time in the kitchen! Chewy and puffy these cookies can easily be made in no time. No chilling required.

With holiday baking in full swing we went with Christmas sanding sugar to coat these cookies.

I like how simple they are to make with just a few ingredients, and the Christmas sanding sugar is so pretty!

I love that these cookies don’t require rolling and cutting out. There is so much going on during the holidays we like things easy. There is a lot of cooking and baking going on so we always try to bake things that are delicious but easy.

And although we do make some things that are more intricate it will only be after we make our favorite easy desserts such as these cookies.

HOW TO MAKE CLASSIC SUGAR COOKIES:

Using a standing mixer, cream together the butter and sugar until combined

Beat in the eggs, one at a time until combined

Mix in the vanilla until combined

Using a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and cream of tarter until combined

Gradually mix in the dry ingredients into the wet

Mix until combined

Using a small ice cream scooper, scoop out dough and roll into a ball

Set aside onto the cookie sheet

Repeat step until all dough is molded into balls

Pour the sanding sugar into a large bowl

Roll each dough ball into the sanding sugar and place back onto the cookie sheets about 2-3 inches apart from each other.

Once all dough balls have been coated into the sanding sugar, using the palm of your hand, lightly push down the dough balls into thick disk

Bake in the preheated oven for about 11-13 minutes or until lightly browned

The cookies will slightly be under cooked

Enjoy these Classic Sugar Cookies. Share them with your family and friends!
