Step 1: Prepare the oven and mix together the sugar and cornstarch

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. In a small bowl, whisk together the ½ c sugar and the cornstarch. Set aside for a moment.

Step 2: Make the blueberry filling

Zest the lemon, and squeeze its juice over the bowl of blueberries. Sprinkle the sugar and cornstarch mix over them and stir them well. Set them to the side.

In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugars, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt. Add the butter into the flour using a pastry cutter to create fine crumbs. In a small bowl, whisk the egg and the vanilla together and add it to the flour, continuing to cut it into the flour mixing using a pastry cutter.
