🔪 How to Make Triple Chocolate Banana Bread
Making this bread is no more difficult than regular banana bread. It only takes the extra step of making the frosting, which, by the way, is very easy to do!
Step 1: Prep
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and spray a 9×5 loaf pan with nonstick cooking spray. Set aside.
Step 2: Combine the Dry Ingredients
Whisk the flour, unsweetened cocoa powder, baking soda, and baking powder together in a large mixing bowl.
Step 3: Combine the Wet Ingredients
Beat the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar in a medium bowl with an electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy. Then, add the eggs and mashed bananas and stir until combined.
Step 4: Make the Batter
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.
Step 5: Bake
Pour the batter into the loaf pan and spread it out evenly. Then bake for 50 to 60 minutes until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Set aside and let the bread cool in the pan.
Step 6: Heat the Cream and Sugar
Heat the heavy cream and brown sugar over medium heat in a medium saucepan, stirring often until the sugar dissolves, and the mixture begins to lightly bubble.
Step 7: Add Butter and Vanilla
Stir the butter and vanilla into the heavy cream mixture until the butter is melted.
Step 8: Finish the Frosting
Remove the saucepan from the heat and add the chocolate chips. Whisk until melted and the frosting is smooth. Place the frosting in a bowl and cool for 10 to 15 minutes.
Step 9: Frost the Banana Bread
Turn the cooled bread out of the loaf pan and drizzle it with the chocolate frosting. Slice and enjoy!
