Ingredients

  • 1 ⅓ cups all-purpose flour
  • cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • cup milk
  • ¼ cup butter softened
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Powdered sugar optional

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Grease an 8 x 8 baking dish,
  • Combine flour, granulated sugar, and baking powder together in a mixing bowl.
  • Add wet ingredients to the flour mixture. Beat on low speed until combined. Beat on medium speed for 1 minute.
  • Pour batter into the prepared baking dish.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Cool on the cooling rack. Dust with powdered sugar, if desired. Serve and enjoy!
