Fill a large pot with water and bring it to a boil over high heat. Add the lo mein noodles and cook according to the package directions. About halfway through the cook time, add the broccoli florets to the same pot. Once the noodles are done, drain everything together through a colander and set aside.
Heat a drizzle of oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the shredded carrot and sliced steak. Cook for 5 to 8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the steak is cooked to your liking.
While the steak cooks, add the minced garlic, hoisin sauce, soy sauce, brown sugar, ground ginger, pepper, and red pepper flakes to a small bowl. Stir until fully combined. Add the drained noodles and broccoli into the skillet with the steak and toss to combine. Pour the sauce over everything and stir until all the ingredients are evenly coated.
Garnish with chopped green onions or sesame seeds if desired. Serve immediately and enjoy!
