Equipment

  • baking sheet
  • Knife
  • Saute pan
  • small bowl

Ingredients

  • 20 ounces frozen french fries
  • 8 ounces shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small onion
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ head iceberg lettuce
  • ¼ cup cherry tomatoes
  • 2-3 sliced pickles

Sauce:

  • ¼ cup mayo
  • 1 Tablespoon sour cream
  • 1 Tablespoon finely chopped pickles
  • 1 teaspoon pickle juice
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon onion powder

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
  • Spread the fries on a baking tray and place in the oven to brown, or follow directions on the package.
  • Divide the onion in half and chop half into fine pieces and place in a large saute pan with a drizzle of olive oil and cook the onion until it has turned translucent.
  • Add the ground beef, breaking it apart into small pieces and cook until golden brown.
  • Add the garlic powder, onion powder, salt and black pepper and stir.
  • To make the sauce, combine the mayo, sour cream, pickles, pickle juice, salt, paprika, garlic and onion powder and stir until smooth. Set it aside.
  • Slice the lettuce into thin strips, cut the cherry tomatoes in half, and thinly slice the remaining half of onion.
  • Set the toppings aside.
  • Once the fries are golden, remove them from the oven and layer the fries with the cooked beef and cheese. Return the pan to the oven until the cheese has fully melted.
  • Remove and start laying the toppings over the fries–onions, tomatoes, pickles and lettuce.
  • Drizzle the sauce over the top of everything and serve immediately.

Notes

I don’t recommend leftovers, unless the toppings are removed before reheating.
