Butterbeer Shots

Hogwarts is all grown up with these butterbeer shots. These creamy shots are loaded with sweet butterscotch flavor and a kick of vodka.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 3 envelopes unflavored gelatin such as Knox
  • ½ cup beer any brand
  • ½ cup butterscotch schnapps
  • ½ cup vanilla vodka
  • 4 –5 regular marshmallows
  • 1 package gold decorating sugar
  • Whipped cream for topping (such as Redi-Whip)
  • Caramel ice cream topping for drizzling

Instructions

  • In a medium bowl or large measuring pitcher, add the boiling water. Sprinkle the gelatin evenly over the water and let it sit for 5 minutes to bloom.
  • Stir until fully dissolved, then let the mixture cool to room temperature.
  • Once cooled, stir in the beer, butterscotch schnapps, and vanilla vodka until well combined.
  • Place shot glasses on a baking sheet that will fit in your refrigerator.
  • Pour the gold decorating sugar into a shallow dish and set aside.
  • Cut marshmallows in half. Rub the cut side of a marshmallow around the rim of each shot glass to make it sticky. Replace marshmallows as needed.
  • Dip the rims into the gold decorating sugar to coat, then place glasses back on the baking sheet.
  • Carefully ladle the gelatin mixture into each shot glass.
  • Refrigerate until fully set, at least 2 hours or until ready to serve.
  • Just before serving, top each shot with whipped cream and drizzle with caramel topping.
