Copycat Cheddar Bay Biscuits

These copycat Red Lobster Cheddar Bay biscuits are soft, cheesy, garlicky versions of the original you can make at home in just minutes.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • ½ cup butter melted
  • 1 ½ cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons butter melted
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • Parsley for garnish

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
  • In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, garlic powder, salt and cayenne pepper.
  • Add the shredded cheese in.
  • To the mixture add the buttermilk and ½ cup melted butter.
  • Use a wooden spoon to make sure all the ingredients are combined.
  • Divide the dough into 6 or 8 equal pieces depending on how big you want them.
  • Roll the dough into equal balls and flatten slightly into a biscuit shape.
  • Place on prepared baking tray.
  • Place into oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown. Remove from oven.
  • Mix together the 2 tablespoons melted butter and ½ teaspoon garlic powder.
  • Brush the biscuits with the melted butter mixture.
  • Top with some chopped parsley.
  • Serve!

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
