Ingredients
1 ¼
cups
unsalted butter
softened
1 ¼
cups
white sugar

eggs
1
teaspoon
vanilla extract
1
teaspoon
almond extract

flour
divided
½
teaspoon
salt
Neon green food coloring
½
cup
crushed cherry jolly ranchers
Instructions
In a large mixing bowl beat the sugar and butter until light and fluffy using an electric mixer.
Next add in your eggs, vanilla, almond and green food coloring and mix until combined.
Next gradually add in 3 ½ cups of flour.
Once the dough is combined wrap in plastic wrap and place in the fridge for at least an hour, up to overnight.
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
Roll out the dough to about a ¼ inch thick, using the leftover flour to keep the dough from sticking.
Use a heart cookie cutter and cut out hearts.
Using a smaller heart cutter cut out a small heart in the big heart.
Place the cookies onto a parchment lined baking sheet.
Using a little spoon fill the small hearts up with the crushed red candy.
Bake at 350 for 12 minutes or until the edges are just golden.
Remove from oven and let cool completely on the pan before removing or else the red candy might not have cooled and hardened.
Serve!
