Honey Garlic Shrimp

This Honey Garlic Shrimp is a tasty stir-fry that is packed full of tender shrimp, and fresh vegetables all coated in a sweet and tangy sauce. Your family will love it.

Ingredients

  • 3 pounds shrimp cooked, peeled and deveined
  • ½ cup honey
  • ½ cup soy sauce use low sodium if preferred
  • cup brown sugar
  • 7 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger minced (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons Vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons Cornstarch
  • ¼ cup Cold water
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1 red bell pepper sliced
  • 1 zucchini quartered and sliced
  • 1 large onion sliced
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons Salt
  • ¼ teaspoon Black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon Paprika
  • ½ teaspoon Garlic powder

Instructions

  • In a medium sized pot, add honey, soy Sauce, brown sugar, vinegar, ginger and garlic. Stir to combine.
  • Stir together the water and cornstarch in a small bowl, till no lumps remain. pour into the honey garlic mixture and mix till combined.
  • Over medium heat, cook till boiling and slightly thickened.
  • Turn off heat but keep on burner.
  • If not using cooked shrimp - Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Season shrimp with salt and pepper. Add shrimp to the skillet in a single layer.
  • Cook for about 2 minutes on each side, until pink and opaque.
  • Remove shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
  • In a large skillet, add 2 tablespoons of olive oil.
  • Add the broccoli, bell pepper, zucchini, and carrot.
  • Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder and paprika.
  • Stir-fry the vegetables for about 5-7 minutes until they are tender- crisp.
  • Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet. Pour the honey garlic sauce over the shrimp and veggies.
  • Stir to coat everything evenly.
  • Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, until the sauce thickens slightly and everything is heated through.
  • Remove from heat and serve immediately.
