Peach Bread

Homemade Peach Bread is soft, tender, and full of juicy peaches. It's a great summer dessert or even a breakfast treat with a cup of coffee.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup sugar
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup milk
  • ½ cup melted butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 cup flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 cups fresh diced peaches

Glaze:

  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons melted butter
  • cup diced peaches
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla
  • *Optional 1-2 Tbsp milk depends how juicy peaches are may or may not be needed

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  • In a large bowl, whisk the sugar, brown sugar, milk, melted butter, egg and vanilla together until they are smooth.
  • In a small bowl, whisk the flour, baking powder, salt, nutmeg and cinnamon together.
  • Whisk the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients until well mixed. Set aside.
  • Peel and dice the peaches into small pieces.
  • Add the peaches to the batter and fold them in until incorporated.
  • Pour the batter into a 9” loaf pan and place in the oven to bake for 55-60 minutes, or until a knife comes out cleanly. Remove and let rest in the pan for 10 minutes before turning out on a cooling rack to fully cool.
  • To make the glaze, place the powdered sugar, melted butter, vanilla and peaches in a medium sized bowl and mix until smooth.
  • Pour over the top of the cooled bread.
  • Slice and enjoy!

Notes

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
