Fried Green Beans with Sriracha Dip

Ingredients

Green Beans:

  • 1 1/4lbs. fresh green beans, washed and trimmed
  • 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour, divided
  • 1/2 tsp. ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp. onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp. ground black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 cups beer
  • vegetable oil, for frying

Sriracha Dip:

  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 Tbsp. Sriracha
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp. onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, whisk all sriracha dip ingredients until blended. Cover and refrigerate. 
  • Toss cleaned and steamed green beans in 1/2 cup flour until coated.
  • In a shallow dish, mix remaining flour, cumin, cayenne, garlic powder, onion powder, pepper, and salt. 
  • Slowly add the beer until a thick batter forms
  • In a large skillet, heat 1 to 2 inches of oil to 375 degrees F
  • Dip the beans in the batter to coat before carefully dropping into the hot oil.
  • . Fry in small batches for 2 to 3 minutes. 
  • Transfer fried green beans to a wire cooling rack on a baking sheet or a plate lined with paper towels to drain.
  • Serve warm with sriracha dip.
