Wine Cookies

This easy Wine Cookies recipe is made with white wine, orange zest, and vanilla. They are perfectly sweet, crisp, and ideal for coffee or gifting.

Equipment

Ingredients

  • ½ cup sugar plus extra for rolling cookies
  • ½ cup dry white wine
  • cup oil
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla
  • ½ teaspoon orange extract
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 ¼ cups flour

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  • In a large bowl, combine the sugar, wine, oil, salt, vanilla, orange extract, orange zest and baking powder. Add in the flour and continue to mix until the dough forms a ball.
  • Lightly flour a flat surface and turn the dough onto the surface and knead the dough about 10-12 times.
  • Divide the dough into 20 equal balls and roll into logs, about 4” in length. Form the rope into a circle shape, gently pressing the ends together, slightly overlapping.
  • Toss the cookie in extra sugar and place on a baking tray about 2” apart.
  • Bake the cookies for 22-25 minutes, until they turn golden brown on the edges. Remove and let cool.

Notes

Store any leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
