Lemon and Garlic Baked Tilapia

Lemon and Garlic Baked Tilapia – Tilapia fillets are baked to perfection with a topping mixture made with garlic , butter, lemon, parsley and seasonings. 

 

Lemon and Garlic Baked Tilapia is such an easy and simple dish. We have been making this dish for years. We use it when making haddock, cod or any white fish. We have friends in the food business and they gave us the idea to saute the garlic on the stove top first and really does work well.

So first is starts out on the stove top. We saute the butter and minced garlic on the stove top for just a minute or so. Then we remove the butter and garlic and set the tilapia in the pan. 

 

Then we add the rest of the butter to the pan And por the garlic, butter over the tilapia along with the  parsley, oregano, sea salt and pepper.

Lemon and Garlic Baked Tilapia

Ingredients

  • 2-4 tilapia fillets 5-6 oz each
  • 4 garlic cloves crushed and minced large
  • 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 2 tsp dried parley
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • sea salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400°.
    Melt 1 1/2 tbsp of butter on over a low flame in a small pan. 
    Add garlic and saute on low for about 1 minute. Add 1 tbsp of the lemon juice, , and remove from heat.
    Add remaining melted butter and 1 tbsp of the lemon juice to pan. Place the fish on top and season with herbs, salt, and pepper. Pour the garlic lemon butter mixture on the fish. 
    Bake at 400° until cooked, about 10 15 minutes. Do not over cook or fish will be dry.
