🔪 How to Make These Homemade Garlic Breadsticks

In a small bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until the mixture becomes frothy.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, and activated yeast mixture. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 3 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic.
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean kitchen towel or plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes or until doubled in size.
Melt the butter in a baking dish and then sprinkle with garlic salt. Punch the dough down and roll out into a rectangular shape.
Slice the dough into 1 inch strips. Then place them in the baking dish with the melted butter. Allow them to rise for 15 minutes.

- 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
- 1 ¼ cups warm water 110°F/45°C
- 2 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoons salt
- ½ cup butter
- 1 teaspoon garlic salt
Instructions
- In a small bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and yeast.
- Let it sit for about 5 minutes until the mixture becomes frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, and activated yeast mixture.
- Stir until a dough forms. The dough should be very slightly sticky but not overly messy/sticky.
- Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 3 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean kitchen towel or plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm, draft-free place for about 30 minutes or until doubled in size. :
- Preheat the oven to 375°F
- Melt 1 stick of butter in the bottom of a large cake pan.
- Then sprinkle the garlic salt on top of the melted butter. Set aside.
- Punch down the risen dough and roll it out into a rectangular shape with the dough about ½ – ¾ inches thick.
- Use a pizza cutter to slice the dough into 1 inch strips.
- Transfer the breadsticks into the garlic butter pan, they are usually squished once you lay them in there.
- Place baking pan in your rising space and let them rise for another 15 minutes.
- Once the breadsticks have risen, bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes or until the breadsticks are golden brown and slightly crispy on the outside.
- Remove the breadsticks from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes before serving.
