💭 Tips
- Cook your chicken until it has a nice color and a bit of crust before flipping it. The goal is to flip it just once for even cooking.
- A meat thermometer is your best friend for this recipe. It ensures the chicken is always cooked perfectly.
- For a meltier sandwich, prepare your mayo and toast your bread while the chicken is cooking. Then, place it on the bread while it’s still piping hot and top it with your cheese slice.
🥫 Storage
We recommend making just enough sandwiches to serve your family and guests. While leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 3 days in an airtight container, the texture is never as good as when you first make them.
Serve With
Serve these sandwiches with French fries, oven ranch potatoes, potato salad, potato chips, or any of your other favorite classic sandwich sides.
⁉️ FAQ
Do you have questions about this recipe? Here are the answers to the most commonly asked questions.
Blackening is a technique involving coating meat or fish with a blend of herbs and spices and then cooking it until it develops a crust on both sides.
Not at all. Although at first glance, blackened meat may look burned, it’s actually a deep, dark crust of seasonings rather than burned meat. This method isn’t about charring the food, but rather creating deep flavor by toasting those seasonings on the outside of the meat.
Any blackened meat gets its name from the dark, almost black crust formed by searing the meat in a coating of seasonings.
