We love grilling season at our house. It’s the one time of year when we can sit outdoors, enjoy the sun on our skin, sip on a delicious drink.
Cooking up these kabobs on the grill is a classic for dinner in the summer. And I think that we can all agree that eating food off of a stick is just fun! Although I wouldn’t suggest eating this off the stick especially for kids! slide the meat off the stick for them.
This marinated grilled chicken is something we eat on a regular basis in our house since it’s simple, delicious tender and oh I said delicious already.
These kabobs can easily be made inside too. Use a grill pan or broil them in the oven. We normally use metal skewers when making these. It’s just easier than having to soak the wooden ones. Also we never have to worry about the ends of the skewer getting too charred.
Kabobs are actually quite popular because they’re simple for the adults to prep and they are perfect for a weeknight al or any get together. We like to use metal skewers. We find it holds the meat better but you can use the wooden ones. If you do make sure you soak then for at least 30 minutes so the ends don’t burn.
We’ve done kabobs in chicken, pork, shrimp, steak and even salmon but really do love the taste of chicken when it comes off the grill. And if we have a gathering most people seem to like it best so it goes over well. You can use chicken breast or chicken thighs for this recipe. If your having a get together you might want to make both since some like one over the other.

How long should chicken marinate?
For this recipe, 6-8 hours. But it all just depends on the taste and the flavor that you’re going for. The longer you let the meat marinade, the more flavor it’s going to take on. Keep that in mind as it actually is possible to let the meat marinate too long.
How often do you have to turn the chicken kabobs when they’re on the grill?
Often. This is actually quite important because it’s hard to maintain consistent heat and temperature on a grill. You’ll have to keep a close eye on the kabob to make certain that you aren’t burning it and that will require you to be turning it every couple of moments in time.
What can I serve with my chicken kabobs?
We serve many different things. Grilled vegetables almost always. Rice, potatoes, salad, pasta salad, potato salad are just a few side dishes that go well with this chicken dish.
Make certain that when you’re putting the chicken meat on the kabob that you get it put on really well. The last thing that you want to happen is to have your chicken meat fall off into the grill and be gone forever! That’s a major grilling no-no! We think you will love these chicken kabobs. Give them a try some night when your looking for something quick and easy.
