🔪 How to Make Chocolate Gingerbread Whoopie Pies

Making these whoopie pies is a very straightforward affair. The cookies are quick and easy, and decorating them is a breeze!

Step 1: Prep

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees and spray baking sheets with nonstick spray. Set them aside.

Whisk the butter and sugar in a stand mixer or with an electric mixer until fluffy. Then, add the egg and whisk until just combined.

Add the batter to a piping bag and pip the batter into gingerbread man shapes on the prepared baking sheets.

Step 6: Bake

Bake for 7 minutes until the gingerbread men have risen in the middle.

Let the gingerbread men cool for 2 minutes on the baking sheet. Then, transfer them to a wire cooling rack to cool completely.

Ingredients

  • 1 ¾ cups flour
  • pinch salt
  • ½ cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ cup unsalted butter room temperature
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions
