⁉️ FAQ

Do you have questions about this recipe? Here are the answers to the most commonly asked questions.

Why do you melt butter for brownies?

Melting butter releases most of its water content. This causes the brownies to become fudgier and have a stronger cocoa flavor when baked.

What happens if you use softened butter instead of melted in brownies?

If you use softened butter, you’ll have to mix more, making a cakier brownie with a less intense chocolate flavor.

What is the best cocoa powder to use for brownies?

The best cocoa powder to use for brownies – or any baked good, for that matter – is Dutch process cocoa powder. It produces the most intense chocolate flavor.
