Chocolate Mint Shake – You can add things like chocolate chips or even Oreo cookies to the blender when you are mixing your chocolate for a chocolate mint flavor.
Creaminess – You can use any type of milk that you prefer, but we recommend using whole milk for the most creamy shake.
Kid-friendly – For little ones or kids that don’t like mint flavor, just remove the syrup from the recipe and add green food coloring for color.

If you have questions about this Shamrock Shake, then read on. The following FAQ answers the most commonly asked questions about this mint shake.
I can’t find the Creme de Menthe, what else can I use?
In lieu of the Torani, you can use Mint extract. Start with 1 tablespoon of the extract at a time. You may need to also add in food coloring to get the color you are looking for. That is the bonus of using the crème de menthe syrup. It is already green, so no food coloring is needed!

Can I make this recipe with dairy-free ice cream?
You can use dairy-free ice cream, however, the consistency will be different for this Shamrock Shake recipe.
How long is Shamrock Shake available at McDonald’s?
Usually, McDonald’s has the shake for the months of February and March. However, with this homemade recipe, you don’t need to wait for them to be in your local restaurant since you can make it at home.
