2poundsground chickencooked and crumbled
3tablespoonshoisin sauce
2tablespoonslow-sodium soy sauce
2tablespoonsrice wine vinegar
1teaspoonsesame oil
1small oniondiced
2clovesgarlicminced
½teaspoonground ginger
½teaspoonred pepper flakes
1tablespoonbrown sugar
8ouncescanned sliced water chestnutsdrained and diced
Scallions and sesame seeds for garnish
Large leafy lettuce for serving I used green leaf lettuce
Instructions
To your slow cooker add the cooked ground chicken, hoisin sauce, soy sauce, vinegar, sesame oil, onion, garlic, ground ginger, red pepper flakes, brown sugar and water chestnuts.
Stir together and cook on low for 4 hours stirring once or twice.
When ready to serve wash and dry your lettuce leaves and spoon some of the chicken mixture into one.
Top with sesame seeds and scallions and serve!
Notes
Pre-cook ground chicken to cut down on slow cooker time.
Add veggies like bell peppers or carrots for extra nutrients.
