Equipment

  • large mixing bowl
  • crock pot

Ingredients

  • 36 ounces smoked sausage sliced
  • ¾ cup cola
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons honey dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder

Instructions

  • To a bowl add your smoked sausage.
  • Add the cola, brown sugar, mustard and chili powder.
  • Give everything a stir until it is well combined.
  • Add the sausage to the slow cooker and cover.
  • Cook for 4 hours on high or 6 hours on slow.
  • For the last half of the cooking process I remove the lid from the slow cooker so the sauce can get thick.
  • At the end of cooking if the sauce is not thick and glazy enough you can add the sausage to a baking dish and broil until glazy.
  • Serve!

Notes

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • You can use any kind of smoked sausage you like, turkey or even andouille.
  • You can spice this up with a little red pepper flake.
  • Use the mustard you like.
  • I would not recommend using diet cola.
