🔪 How to Make Texas Sheet Cake Cookies
Making these delicious, fudgy chocolate cookies is really pretty simple. It only takes a little mixing and baking. That’s all there is to it!
Step 1: Combine the Wet Cookie Ingredients
Whisk the melted butter and cocoa powder together in a large bowl. Then, add the sugars and beat with an electric mixer on medium speed until combined. Finally, add the eggs and vanilla and beat until incorporated.
Step 2: Add the Dry Ingredients
Whisk the flour, baking soda, and salt together in a medium mixing bowl. Then, add it to the wet ingredients and mix until combined.
Step 3: Chill
Cover the dough with plastic wrap and refrigerate it for 45 minutes.
Step 4: Bake
Roll the chilled dough into 1.5-inch balls and place them at least 2 inches apart on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes at 350 degrees until set.
Step 5: Make the Frosting
While the cookies are baking, melt the butter in a large saucepan over medium heat. Then, add the milk and unsweetened cocoa powder and whisk until smooth. Add the powdered sugar and whisk until fully incorporated.
Step 6: Frost the Cookies

- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 2 eggs

- 3 tablespoons milk
- 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder sifted

- Add the brown sugar and granulated sugar and beat with an electric mixer on medium speed until well combined.
- Add the eggs and vanilla extract and beat on medium speed until incorporated.
- In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Stir the mixture into the wet ingredients.
- Cover the bowl with a lid or plastic wrap and refrigerate for 45 minutes.
- While the dough is chilling, preheat the oven to 350F.
- Roll the dough into 1.5-inch cookie dough balls and place on a ungreased baking sheets at least 2 inches apart.
