🔪 How to Make Jalapeno Popper Pigs in a Blanket

Making this recipe is super easy. It only takes a few minutes and a few simple steps. In fact, the entire process only takes about 30 minutes from start to finish.

Step 1: Prep

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and cut the crescent dough rounds in half to create 16 strips of dough. Set aside. Cut the jalapenos in half vertically and then horizontally to create 4 pieces.

Step 2: Make the Popper Filling

Beat the cream cheese until light and fluffy in a medium mixing bowl. Then, add the shredded cheddar cheese, crumbled bacon, and seasonings and mix well.

Step 3: Make the Popper Pigs in a Blanket

Fill the jalapeno quarters with the poppe mixture. Then, place a Lil’ Smokie on top of it. Wrap a dough strip around the Smokie-topped jalapeno. Place it on a baking sheet, continuing until all the dough is used.

Ingredients

  • 14 ounces Lil’ Smokies
  • 16 ounces Pillsbury Crescent rolls cut in half
  • 8 jalapenos stem and seeds removed, cut and quartered
  • 8 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 2 cups sharp cheddar shredded
  • 4 bacon slices cooked and crumbled
  • ½ teaspoon cajun seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°.
  • Cut both the crescent doughs in half to create 16 strips of dough. Set aside.
  • In a medium sized mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese until light and fluffy. Add in the shredded cheddar, crumbled bacon, and seasonings. Stir together mixing well.
  • Cut jalapenos in half vertically, then in half horizontally. You will end up with 4 pieces of jalapeno pepper per pepper.
  • Fill with cream cheese mixture. Place a lil’ smokie on top of cream cheese mixture and wrap with a dough strip. Place the wrapped lil’ smokies on a baking sheet.
  • Bake in the oven for 17-18 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Remove from the oven and serve immediately.
