This recipe starts with a soft chocolate graham crust made from butter, brown sugar, vanilla, egg, flour, baking powder, salt, cocoa powder, and graham cracker crumbs. Once that base is partially baked, we pile on the good stuff, caramel bits, mini chocolate chips, chopped pecans, sliced almonds, and plenty of coconut. The final drizzle of sweetened condensed milk brings everything together into that classic magic bar texture we all love.

Variations

  • Extra Chocolatey: Add a layer of chocolate chunks or drizzle melted chocolate over the cooled bars.
  • Nut-Free Version: Skip the pecans and almonds if you need a nut-free option, still delicious!
  • Toasted Coconut: Toast the coconut before adding it for even more flavor.
  • Salted Caramel Twist: Sprinkle flaky sea salt on top after baking for a sweet and salty combo.

These Almond Joy Magic Cookie Bars are even better than the actual candy bar! The chocolate graham cracker crust is so much more flavorful than a standard base, and the combination of sweetened condensed milk with the toasted coconut and sliced almonds creates that perfect gooey texture. This is my new go-to copycat recipe for potlucks!
