Bacon Wrapped Fried Pickles
Bacon Wrapped Fried Pickles
Do you love pickles and bacon? If the answer is yes then you need to try this recipe for Bacon Wrapped Fried Pickles! They are a great appetizer for any party or game day.
The thing about these “fried” pickles is they aren’t even fried they are baked in the oven. We have just always called them fried so they have kept that name.
You don’t need to stand over a hot pot of oil to get the crispy, crunchy pickles you are craving. Now, you can make this restaurant appetizer at home, in any oven. Can you use your air fryer? Yes of course you can!
We call them fried pickles because we have been calling them that forever. But there is no standing over the stove for these pickles. These little babies take about a whole 10 minutes to bake in the oven.
I don’t know about you but we love bacon and use it in well… just about anything we can use it in. It adds so much flavor to so many things.
We first tried these at a friends house but they didn’t add anything to the bread crumb mixture and they fried them instead of baking them. They were really tasty and we liked the fact that they were spears instead of chips.
Spears are so much easier to deal with than chips. So after having these at our friends house we just adjusted things a bit. Added a few spices and some Parmesan cheese and baked them instead and well, we thought they cam out perfect.
These Oven Baked “Fried” Pickles wrapped in bacon are just what every party needs so make sure you a double batch because they do go fast!
Can you use thick cut bacon for his recipe?
Although we love thick cut bacon it doesn’t work well for this recipe. You will want to use thin cut bacon so it can get as crispy as possible. We tried thick cut bacon once and they didn’t come out as good so stick with think cut.
What happens if you have leftovers?
If you happen to have leftovers (very odd for this to happen in our house) you can reheat in the oven or toaster oven at 350 for about 10 minutes. We like to serve our fried pickles with ranch or blue cheese dressing. You can of course use whatever dipping sauce you like.
For your fried pickles, you can either buy the pre-cut pickle spears or you can buy whole pickles and quarter them. We like buying the pre-cut spears because it is so much easier and a lot less prep time. And really nobody has time to cut up pickles when you can buy them already cut!
We are all about everything time saving. From start to finish, this recipe takes about 15 minutes to make. This makes it a perfect last minute appetizer or snack.
