Cheesy Skillet Pizza Dip

It’s a stellar choice for an appetizer or the perfect dip for a party or tailgating treat. This creamy dip is oozing with cheesy goodness thanks to the combination of cream cheese and mozzarella. You can add whatever toppings you like of course but we usually keep this dip pretty simple. Or we will make two. One for the purists and one for those you like pepperoni. I don’t care for pepperoni on pizza myself. I know crazy ha?

How easy is this dip to make?

Super easy! I mean literally it takes less than 10 or so minutes to put this together and once you have made it a few times it will take you even less. You need just a few simple ingredients such as cream cheese, mozzarella cheese, cheddar cheese, minced garlic, Italian seasoning and marinara sauce.

  • Mix together cream cheese, mozzarella, cheddar, garlic, and Italian seasoning together until blended.
  • Butter an 8 or 9 inch cast iron skillet, and press cheese into it.
  • Spread a layer of marinara sauce on top, and sprinkle a layer of cheese plus a little more Italian seasoning.
  • Bake at 350 for 15-20 minutes or until top is golden and bubbling. Serve with any bread, chips or veggies you like.

What should you dip into this cheesy skillet pizza dip?

Whatever you want to! It’s great to use veggies to dip into it that will keep this dip a favorite low carb/keto treat. Or you can use slices of bread or crackers too. And if you’re looking for a gluten-free option, corn chips are always a solid bet as well. (I’ve even been known to just grab a spoon and dig right in because it really does taste like pizza, just without the crust!)

Can you serve this pizza dip cold?

You can but we don’t recommend it. With how cheesy and delicious it is, it just makes sense to serve it hot and melted right from the oven. If you want to try the cold theory on the leftovers, that’s totally up to you!

Enjoy the delicious outcome of this pizza dip recipe. It’s a simple recipe that really gives you a ton of cheesy goodness in every single bite. You can even spice it up a bit and dab on some hot sauce as well. Just make certain to do that to your own portion so that everyone else can enjoy it as they please, too.
