💭 Tips
- When cooking your pasta, always salt the water generously! This step is key to enhancing the natural flavor of the pasta and takes your dish up a notch.
- Be sure to reserve a bit of the pasta water (about a cup) before draining. This starchy water can be a lifesaver when it comes to loosening up your sauce or helping it cling to the pasta better.
- If you’re making the dish ahead of time, keep the pasta and sauce separate until you’re ready to serve. This prevents the pasta from soaking up too much sauce and becoming mushy.
⁉️ FAQ
Do you have questions about this Italian drunken noodles recipe? Here are the answers to the most commonly asked questions.
Absolutely! While traditional Italian drunken noodles often call for wide noodles like pappardelle or fettuccine, you can experiment with any pasta you have on hand.
For the best results, use a dry white wine like Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio. These wines add a bright, zesty flavor that complements the dish without overpowering it. If you prefer to use red wine, a light red like Pinot Noir can be a great option.
