Maple Snickerdoodle Cookies

Maple Snickerdoodle Cookies –  Soft and chewy Maple Snickerdoodle Cookies are a family favorite cookie. Full of cinnamony and maple flavors, they are sure to become a big hit!!

 We have always loved snickerdoodles but the addition of maple chips takes these cookies over the top.  These chewy Maple Snickerdoodle Cookies are the best ever! Or so we have been told. 

 

 These snickerdoodles are thicker and puffier than some of the others we make which are flatter. 

Honestly I have never met a snickerdoodle I didn’t like puffy or flat but these have maple chips so they are kind of special. When I say the maple chips on Amazon I knew I had to add them to my baking pantry. They are made with pure maple syrup so they are full of flavor.  

You could make these cookies without the maple chips but you would be missing out! Give it a try at least once. 

These maple snickerdoodle cookies would make a perfect addition to your Christmas cookie tray or Christmas cookie swap. Bake two batches because you will want to keep one for yourself if you using one for your Christmas cookie swap!!

 

Maple Snickerdoodle Cookies are simple to make. 

 

 

After you have all your wet and dry ingredients mixed, add in the maple chips and stir to mix. 

 

Roll a small amount of dough into a ball.

 

Roll a small amount of dough into a ball.  Roll into the cinnamon sugar and place on your baking mat.

Let them cool then dig in!! 

Ingredients:

1 cup butter, room temperature
¾ cup sugar
½ cup brown sugar
1 egg, plus 1 yolk
1 tbsp vanilla
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cream of tartar
½ tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
2 ¾ cup flour
½ cup – ¾ cup maple baking chips
¼ cup sugar
1 tbsp cinnamon

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 325.  Line a baking sheet with a baking mat or parchment paper.  

  2. In a bowl, mix together the wet ingredients: butter, brown sugar, sugar, eggs, and vanilla.  Stir until the mixture is light and fluffy.

  3. In a second bowl, mix baking soda, cream of tartar, salt, cinnamon and flour.  Mix well.

  4. Pour the flour mixture into the wet mixture slowly, stirring between each.  

  5. Stir in your maple chips.  You can add more or less to your liking.

  6. In a small bowl, mix ¼ cup sugar and 1 tbsp cinnamon.  

  7. Roll a small amount of dough into a ball. Roll a small amount of dough into a ball.  Roll into the cinnamon sugar and place on your baking mat.

  8. Bake in the oven for 10-12 minutes.

For an extra boost of maple-ness, add ½ tsp maple extract!
