⁉️ FAQ
Do you have questions about this recipe? Here are the answers to the most commonly asked questions.
They were actually invented as a way to sneak booze into a military Christmas party. In the 50s, a man named Tom Lehrer created the first gelatin shots in order to get alcohol into a military party without anyone suspecting it.
Yes. While there’s a bit of leeway in most Jello shot recipes, if you add much more than what’s called for, your shots won’t set. That’s because the alcohol interferes with the gelatin’s ability to firm up.
Most people believe Jello shots get you drunker than other forms of alcohol, but it’s not the shots themselves, it’s their flavor. In reality, Jello shots are no more likely to get you drunk than any other form of alcohol. Most people just have too many because the sweet flavor masks some of the alcohol flavor.
