Smothered Pork Chops with Onion and Mushrooms

Smothered Pork Chops with Onion and Mushrooms  was given to me years ago by a friend  who got it  from her Nana who got it from her Auntie Nettie who got it from her Mamey lol. In any case the first time I had these they were delicious and so tender.

Once we made pork chops this way it became one of our go to ways to make these little babys! We love that you basically spend just minutes preparing this dish but frying up the chops and making the simple gravy then you just let it do it’s thing!

Smothered Pork Chops with Onion and Mushrooms

Smothered Pork Chops with Onion and Mushrooms are so simple to throw together and once you get them  together you just let them simmer for an hour your work is done.

I love, love mushrooms and tend to add extra.  The chops come out nice and tender after lightly simmering in the creamy and flavorful sauce.

Once you place the pork chops in the gravy your work is done. The pork chops just simmer and get all nice and tender all on their own. Your going to let them simmer for about an hour or so. So easy peasy!

I guarantee this will be one of the most tender pork chop you have ever tasted!! It is a family favorite in our house! And I am sure your family will love it too!

  • 1 onion thinly sliced
  • 8 oz sliced button mushrooms

Family loved these!! However, 1h is way too long to cook 3/4″ boneless chops. I cooked mine for 20 minutes and they were moist and juicy. No shrooms for me.

    1. We’re glad you enjoyed them! We find the longer they cooker the more fall apart tender they got but yes they are definitely cooked after 20 minutes

I have made this recipe many times and on many special occasions. I like to choose a pork chop with a little extra marbling. I think that makes it extra tender. Everyone loves it.
