We love this recipe because brisket is honestly the best BBQ anyone can make. There’s just nothing better. The problem is that if you use a smoker or grill, we’re limited to making it during nice weather in the summer. With this slow cooker brisket, though, we can make it any time of year. WOOT!

  • When broiling the brisket, be sure to take it out when you get a nice crust. Don’t burn it!

⁉️ FAQ

Do you have questions about this recipe? Here are the answers to the most commonly asked questions.

What is brisket?

Brisket is a cut of beef from the steer’s chest. It’s a tough, fibrous, fatty cut of beef, but that’s exactly why it’s so good when it’s cooked low and slow.

Why does brisket have to be cooked low and slow?

Brisket is an exceptionally tough cut of beef. It’s also exceptionally full of fat marbling and connective tissues. That fat and collagen break down when the beef is cooked low and slow, transforming that tough hunk of beef into succulent, juicy, fall-apart brisket that we all know and love.

Can you overcook brisket in a slow cooker?

While it’s technically possible to overcook brisket in a slow cooker, brisket actually needs a lot of time and low heat to cook properly, so you’d have to make a concerted effort to do so.
