  • Oreo cookies – You can also use store-brand chocolate sandwich cookies.
  • Butter – We used salted butter, but unsalted butter can also be used in the crust.
  • Dark chocolate – Chocolate chips or even a chocolate bar can be used.
  • Cream cheese – Full-fat cream cheese will give you the best flavor, we do not recommend using reduced-fat cream cheese in this recipe.
  • Heavy cream
  • Dark chocolate – We used a dark chocolate bar from the baking aisle of the grocery store.
  • Vanilla extract
  • Salt
  • Mini dark chocolate chips – If you can’t find mini chocolate chips, regular chocolate chips can be used.
  • White chocolate chips – We think the white chocolate chips work best on this cheesecake but you can also use milk chocolate or semi-sweet chips instead.

🔪 How to Make This Easy Death By Chocolate Cheesecake

This easy no-bake chocolate cheesecake is easy to make. Follow these steps or find the full recipe in the recipe card at the bottom of this post to make this sweet treat.

Make the crust by adding the melted butter and melted chocolate to the Oreo crumbs in a food processor and then pulsing until combined. Press the crumbs into the pan, and then place the crust in the fridge while you make the filling.

Then in a large bowl use a hand mixer to beat the cream cheese until it is light and fluffy.

Melt the dark chocolate and heavy cream in a microwave-safe bowl, in the microwave in 30-second intervals. Stir in between intervals until smooth.

Allow the dark chocolate and heavy cream mixture to cool slightly before you add it to the cream cheese mixture. Add the salt and vanilla extract and mix until well combined.

Pour the cheesecake on top of the crust and smooth it into an even layer.

Sprinkle the cheesecake with both of the chocolate chips and then chill in the fridge for at least 3 hours before serving.

Storage – Store your cheesecake in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.

Freezing – We’ve also froze this recipe, we like to freeze single slices wrapped in plastic wrap. Then store them in a freezer-bag for up to three months. Thaw the slices in the fridge overnight.

We’ve got a few tips to help ensure that this cheesecake recipe turns out well for you when you make it.

  • We’ve found the easiest way to remove the cheesecake from the pan, is by lining the pan with parchment paper or aluminum foil, so that you can remove the full cheesecake at one time, and then slice it in even bars.
  • Use room-temperature ingredients, this will give you a smooth cheesecake batter that mixes well.
  • Feel free to make this cheesecake the night before and just cover it and store it in the fridge. We always make it the night before, and it turns out great for us.

Ingredients

  • 20 oreo cookies
  • ¼ cup butter melted
  • 1 tablespoon dark chocolate melted
  • 4 ounces cream cheese
  • ¾ cup heavy cream
  • 8 ounces dark chocolate
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup mini dark chocolate chips
  • ¼ cup white chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Line a 9” x 9”x pan with foil and lightly spray with cooking spray. Set aside.
  • In a food processor, place the oreos and pulse until you get fine crumbs.
  • Pour in the melted butter and melted chocolate and pulse to combine.
  • Pour the crumbs into the bottom of the pan and press down to create an even layer.
  • Place the pan in the refrigerator while making the filling.
  • In a large bowl, place the cream cheese and beat it with an electric mixer until creamy.
  • In a microwave safe bowl, place the dark chocolate and heavy cream and slowly melt them in the microwave, in short bursts of time, stirring frequently until fully melted.
  • Allow to cool slightly before adding the chocolate to the cream cheese in small amounts, mixing each time.
  • Add in the salt and the vanilla and mix well until smooth and creamy.
  • Pour the cheesecake over the top of the cookie crust and spread in an even layer.
  • Sprinkle the top with the mini chocolate chips and white chocolate chips.
  • Return it to the refrigerator to allow it to chill for 3 hours before serving.
  • Slice and enjoy!
