Slow Cooker Cube Steak and Gravy is a favorite comfort food meal. Growing up my mom used to buy cube steak a lot because it was inexpensive so she had to find ways to make it taste delicious. And she always did!
Slow Cooker Cube Steak and Gravy starts with cube steak that you season with salt and pepper then you dredge it in flour and fry it in oil. this just takes a few minutes but it is important. You don’t want to just put the meat in the slow cooker without doing this. It will make a big difference in the flavor.
Once that’s done put the steaks in the slow cooker along with the mushrooms, thinly sliced onion, chopped garlic, cream of mushroom soup, brown gravy packet and water. Stir it all up and your done!

I mix the cream of mushroom soup, gravy mix and water together and pour it in but you could probably skip that part. I’m just used to doing it that way. Slow Cooker Cube Steak and Gravy only takes minutes to make so I figure I can spare another few seconds.

- 2 lbs cube steaks
- 10 1/2 oz cream of mushroom soup
- 1 medium onion, sliced thin
- 1 12 oz pkg fresh mushrooms sliced
- 1 pkg brown gravy
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups water
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- flour for dredging
- salt and pepper for tasting
In a large skillet, heat oil in pan over medium-high heat.
In a skillet heat oil on medium- high. Salt and pepper your cube steaks. Lightly dredge in flour then brown steaks on each side and transfer to slow cooker.
Mix cream of mushroom soup, brown gravy and water in a medium size bowl and pour over steaks. Add sliced onions, mushrooms, and garlic. Stir everything together in slow cooker.
Cook on low for 7 to 8 hours. Depending on how your slow cooker. I cook mine for 8 hours
I serve over mashed potatoes but you could serve over rice, noodles or serve next to your favorite veggie.
