🔪 How to Make Valentines Millionaire Bars

This recipe only takes a few simple steps to make. It’s mostly a little melting and layering after you make the easy shortbread crust.

Step 1: Prep

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Line a 9×13 pan with parchment paper and spray it lightly with nonstick spray.

Step 2: Make the Shortbread Dough

Cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy in a medium bowl. Then, add the flour and vanilla, mixing until just combined and crumbly.

Step 3: Bake

Gently press the mixture into the bottom of the pan in an even layer. Then, prick it all over with a fork and bake for 30 minutes until lightly golden. Set aside to cool.

Step 4: Make the Caramel Layer

Melt the caramels and cream in a small pot over medium-low heat until melted and smooth. Then, pour it over the shortbread and set aside.

Step 5: Melt the Chocolate

Place each color of melting chocolate in separate bowls. Melt them in the microwave in 30-second intervals until smooth and melted.

Step 6: Finish the Bars

Pour the white chocolate over the caramel and spread it out evenly. Finally, add little dollops of red and pink chocolate over the white and use a knife to gently swirl them together. Immediately sprinkle with the Valentines sprinkles.

Step 7: Chill

Place in the refrigerator for at least 20 minutes to cool. Then, slice it into 24 pieces and enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup salted butter softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 ¼ cups flour
  • 22 ounces caramel squares
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 12 ounces white almond bark or white melting chocolate
  • 1 cup red melting chocolate
  • 1 cup pink melting chocolate
  • Valentines sprinkles

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
  • Line a 9×13 pan with parchment paper and lightly spray with cooking spray.
  • In a medium bowl cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • To that add the flour and vanilla and mix until just combined, it will be crumbly.
  • Gently press the shortbread mix in an even layer on the bottom of the pan.
  • Prick all over with a fork.
  • Bake for 30 minutes until lightly golden.
  • Remove from oven and let cool while you prepare the caramel.
  • In a small pot over medium-low heat, stir caramels together with the cream until all melted and no lumps remain.
  • Pour the caramel over the shortbread layer. Set aside.
  • For the chocolate layer place each color of melting chocolate in a separate bowl.
  • Microwave each color in 30 second intervals until smooth and melted.
  • Pour the white chocolate over the caramel and spread out.
  • Add little dollops of the red and pink over the white chocolate.
  • Using a knife gently swirl the red and pink into the white. Make sure you do not drag your knife through the caramel layer.
  • Immediately sprinkle with the Valentines sprinkles and place in the refrigerator for at least 20 minutes until completely cool.
  • Slice into 24 pieces and serve!
