🔪 How to Make Slow Cooker Pork Tenderloin

 Step 1: Prep Slow Cooker

Spray your slow cooker with a cooking spray or use a slow cooker liner. Then, place your tenderloin in the bottom of the slow cooker.

Step 2: Mix Up the Soup Mixture

Mix the soups, soy sauce, pepper, and garlic in a bowl. Pour the mixture over the tenderloin.

Step 3: Cover and Cook

Cover the slow cooker with the lid and slow cook for 4-5 hours or until the pork is fully cooked and tender. Then slice and serve up.

📝Variations

  • You can use a smaller pork roast to replace the tenderloins if you would like. Just make sure to cook thoroughly. The roast will typically take a bit longer to cook.
  • Instead of canned French onion soup, you can use the boxed French onion soup mix and 1 cup of broth to make onion soup.
  • Feel free to slice up a white or yellow onion and add it to the bottom of the slow cooker for more flavor to the pork.
  • Dice up some small potatoes or carrots and add a side dish to the mixture to go with the pork.
  • You can add different seasonings and herbs to the recipe if you want additional flavor to the pork.

🥫 Storage

Store your leftover tenderloin in a sealed container in the fridge. When stored properly, this meat will last for 3-4 days. Then, reheat as you wish.

If you want, you can also freeze the meat and the gravy. Place them in a freezer-friendly container and freeze for 2-3 months. Then, thaw in the fridge overnight for a slow thaw or defrost straight from the freezer.

💭 Tips

  • Use a meat thermometer and ensure the internal temperature reads 145 degrees. This will ensure the pork is fully cooked.
  • Do not overcook the pork, or it can cause it to become dry.
  • You can sear the pork in a skillet with a little oil to add a crust to the pork if you want more flavor. Then, place the seared pork in the slow cooker, pour the mixture, and cook as directed.
  • Let the pork rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving to help lock in moisture.

⁉️ FAQ

Do you have questions about this recipe? Here are the answers to the most commonly asked questions.

Should I sear the pork tenderloin before placing it in the slow cooker?

Searing the pork is optional. I didn’t, but it will add more flavor. Just add pepper to the pork and add it to a hot skillet with some oil. Then, sear all sides for 2-3 minutes. Then, place in the slow cooker and cook the same way.

How do I thicken the sauce at the end?

To thicken the sauce, add a cornstarch slurry during the last 30 minutes of cooking. Mix one tablespoon of cornstarch with one teaspoon of cold water, stir it in, cover, and continue cooking.

Can I add cheese to this recipe?

You can top the pork with Swiss, Gruyere, or any other type of cheese you prefer. Do this the last 30 minutes of cooking to help the cheese melt over the pork.

    1. Thank you Kathy. I’m so happy you enjoyed this! It really is delicious and so easy which is a big plus on our house!

  3. Loved this recipe๐Ÿ˜‹. I will definitely be making it again.Thanks Mariaโ€ฆโ€ฆ

    1. Your so welcome Bonnie! So glad you enjoyed it! ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. Do you slice it after it’s cooked?

  5. Could you use a pork loin?

    1. Yes you would just need to adjust cooking time depending on the size

  6. This sounds wonderful. Can it be done in an oven If so, how long and what temp. Thanks.

    1. We have always used the slow cooker. But sure it can be done in the oven. I would say 350 degrees and as far as how long really depends on how large/thick the pork is.
The internal temp should be about 145.

  7. For calories it is listed as 38k. What does that mean?

    1. It’s 138 for 4 ounces.

  8. Can I use a 2 1/2 pound tenderloin and still cook it for five hours or do I have to cook it longer?

    1. That should be ok. I don’t think a 1/2 pound will make much of a difference. We don’t always end up with a 2 pound tenderloin exactly.

  9. Diane barth says:

Is this 5 hours on high or low?

    1. The recipe card has the instructions and its says low ๐Ÿ™‚

  10. I’m making this tonite can you add potatos?

    1. Yes you can just make sure they are cut small enough to cook in 4- hours on low. We serve over mashed potatoes so have never made potatoes in the meal itself

Cooked for 6 hrs and it was tough ..smelled good but it was tough.

    1. We have been making this for years and it’s never tough unless you got a bad cut of meat. Cooking longer will make it tough by overcooking. % hours on low is all you need.

  12. Can this be made in the instant pot?

    1. I haven’t but I’m sure you can

Sounds great. I am cooking this tonight. New recipe for me and hope it’s wonderful. My store had these on sale and I am probably wishing I had bought more!

    1. We always buy when meat is on sale. We have a stand up freezer. With the prices these days you have to stock up if you can

I had to cook mine a little longer as each one was about a # and a half. I took out the tenderloins and sliced them, made a gravy out of the cooker, then put the slices back into the slow cooker! That way you could taste the flavors. I think this was a good way to cook a tenderloin!

    1. So happy you enjoyed this recipe!

  15. Sue white says:

Made this at Christmas and everyone loved it. So tender and flavorful! I was wondering if you could double the soup to make more gravy?

    1. Yes you probably could or make it on the side

  16. Charlotte says:

What flavor pork tenderloin did you use? I’m thinking the Roasted Garlic and Herb or the Applewood Smoked Bacon. TIA! ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. The tenderloin was unflavored. Just plain
