cookie dough shaped into a block and wrapped in a plastic wrap.

Step 3: Chill the dough

Once the dough is combined wrap in plastic wrap and place in the fridge for at least an hour, up to overnight.

Step 4: Preheat the oven and roll out the cookie dough

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Roll out the dough to about a ¼ inch thick, using the leftover flour to keep the dough from sticking.

Step 5: Cut out the hearts

Use a heart cookie cutter and cut-out hearts. Using a smaller heart cutter cut out a small heart in the big heart.  Place the cookies onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.

Step 6: Add the candy and bake

Using a little spoon fill the small hearts up with the crushed red candy.  Bake at 350 for 12 minutes or until the edges are just golden.

Step 7: Cool before serving

Remove from oven and let cool completely on the pan before removing or else the red candy might not have cooled and hardened.  Serve!
