🔪 How to Make Easy Melting Snowman Cookies

This recipe is so easy on every level. It’s a semi-homemade recipe using prepared cookie dough, and the icing and decoration are simple to make. You’ll be in and out of the kitchen in no time.

Step 1: Prep

Line a baking tray with parchment paper and set it aside.

Step 2: Make the Sugar Cookies

Prepare the sugar cookie mix according to the package directions and place 1-inch balls of dough on the prepared cookie sheet. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown. Transfer the cookies to a wire rack to cool completely.

Step 3: Make the Icing

While the cookies cool, whisk the powdered sugar, Karo syrup, and water together to make the icing.

Step 4: Decorate the Marshmallows

Cut the back corner off of the jumbo marshmallows. Then, use a toothpick to draw eyes and mouths on the snowman with black food coloring and another toothpick to draw a carrot nose on the marshmallows with orange food coloring.

Step 5: Decorate the Cookies

Spoon the icing on the cooled cookies to create a melted effect. Then, place the marshmallows, cut-side down on the cookies. Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 17.5 ounces Sugar cookie mix
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup butter
  • Jumbo marshmallows
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1.5 TBS light Karo syrup
  • 1 TBS water
  • Black food coloring
  • Orange food coloring

Instructions

  • Line a baking tray with parchment and set aside.
  • Prepare sugar cookies according to the package. 1 mix, 1 egg, and ½ cup of butter mixed until well incorporated.
  • Using a cookie scoop, place 1 inch balls on the baking tray.
