Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 onion diced
  • 2 red bell peppers sliced
  • 5 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 pound spicy Italian sausage
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • cup tomato paste
  • 28 ounces crushed tomatoes
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 cup water
  • 16 ounce lasagna noodles broken into 4 squares each
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan
  • Fresh parsley optional

Instructions

  • In a large pot, heat vegetable oil over medium high. Add onions and peppers and cook 4 to 5 minutes until slightly softened.
  • Add garlic and spicy Italian sausage. Cook until the sausage browns and crumbles.
  • Stir in oregano, Italian seasoning, tomato paste, crushed tomatoes with juice, chicken broth, milk, and water. Mix well.
