 🥄 Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Measuring Cups and Measuring Spoons
  • Tongs

🥫 Storage

Store your chicken in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days. Then, you can reheat it in the microwave or in the oven. If you heat it in the oven, cover it with foil so the sauce doesn’t burn.

You are welcome to freeze any chicken you do not plan to eat immediately. Simply freeze for 2-3 months. Then thaw in the fridge overnight before you reheat it.

💭 Tips

  • Trim your chicken with any fat or skin left on the tenders.
  • If you marinate the chicken longer, you will find that it adds more flavor.
  • Do not overcrowd the pan, and place it in a single layer. Otherwise, layering the chicken will cause undercooked and overcooked areas.
  • Broiling the chicken will add a crispy caramelized texture to the chicken.
  • Allow the chicken to rest for 5-10 minutes before you eat to help prevent the chicken from drying out.

⁉️ FAQ

Do you have questions about this recipe? Here are the answers to the most commonly asked questions.

Can I use frozen chicken tenders?

If you want to use frozen, you have to allow the chicken to thaw first. Otherwise, it will not have the sauce stick to the chicken the way you would like. Plus, cooking frozen chicken will lead to uneven cooking.

How can I make this recipe healthier?

Yes, you can reduce the sugar content using a lower-sugar sauce and a brown sugar sweetener alternative instead of regular brown sugar.

Can I make these chicken tenders ahead of time?

You can prepare the chicken and marinate it for 12 to 24 hours. Then, when ready, refrigerate and bake it as you planned.

  1. I’m trying this in a slow cooker. Not sure of what to serve with, but it sounds great.

    1. I’ve never made it in the slow cooker so would be interested in how it comes out Barbara. Just be careful not to overcook the chicken. We serve jasmine rice or rice pilaf and a green veggie usually.
