Creamy Chicken Tetrazzini
Our creamy chicken tetrazzini gives you all the rich flavor and creamy texture of the classic dish without nearly as much time or effort. It’s an easy version full of tender, shredded chicken and a creamy, cheesy sauce – pure comfort food in every bite.
We love creamy chicken dishes like pot pies and pasta dishes. A rich sauce full of flavor always complements the meat so well. We often make dishes like slow cooker chicken pot pie or bubble up chicken pot pie during the fall.
We love chicken tetrazzini, as well, because it’s a bit like pot pie filling with pasta. What we don’t always love about it is how much work it can be. That’s why we’ve made this delicious, easy, semi-homemade version that cuts out a lot of the work but not the flavor.

- 9×13 baking dish
🔪 Instructions
- Mix the soup, sour cream, chicken broth, and pepper.

- Bake at 375 until melty. Let the dish rest for 5 minutes and enjoy!
💭 Tips
- Be generous when greasing or spraying your baking dish. This is a cheesy, creamy dish, and it can stick if the pan isn’t adequately greased.
- To easily shred the chicken, pull it away from the bone and use a stand mixer with a paddle attachment.
- Cook your pasta to al dente or even a bit under. The dish will bake for about 35 minutes, so it’s important to be sure the pasta doesn’t overcook.
🥫 Storage
Refrigerate leftovers for up to 3 days in an airtight container. For longer storage, freeze for up to a month in an airtight, freezer-safe container.
To reheat the tetrazzini, defrost it overnight in the refrigerator if frozen. Then, microwave individual portions at 1-minute intervals until heated through.
Serve With
Serve this hearty tetrazzini with classic sides, such as garlic breadsticks or cheesy garlic pull-apart bread. A simple kale salad also works well with this creamy dish.
Because this is such a rich dish, we like to keep dessert light, with simple treats like tiramisu cookies or key lime poke cake.
