Instructions
This is a relatively easy recipe to make, so even inexperienced cooks can make it. The only tricky part will be melting the edges of each half of the bomb shells in order to fuse them together, but even that becomes fairly simple once you try it a couple of times.
Step 1: Make the Bomb Shells
Place the Chocolate in a Microwave safe bowl, and melt until smooth and creamy. Stir well, and spoon or ladle into the molds, making sure to coat the inside of the molds. Pour excess chocolate back into the bowl. Place the molds in the refrigerator, and let harden for 15 minutes.
Remove molds from the refrigerator, and carefully remove chocolate from molds, placing 6 half balls in a row on a cookie sheet. These will be the bottom parts of the bombs. Place the other 6 balls on the cookie sheet.
Step 2: Fill and Fuse the Shells
First, fill the bottom half of the shells with cocoa powder. Then, heat a nonstick skillet on low and place one of the white chocolate half balls with the open side down in the skillet, melting just the edges for a few seconds. Remove the shell, and place the ball on top of the half balls filled with cocoa. Hold for a few seconds until the top half sticks to the bottom half.
Repeat until all 6 Balls are done. When all the cocoa bombs have been filled and melted together, place them in the refrigerator for 5 minutes until the chocolate is completely set.
Step 3: Decorate the Hot Cocoa Bombs
Place a little more of the White Chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave at 15-second intervals until the chocolate melts. Put a piece of parchment paper on your counter and spoon white chocolate onto the parchment paper to make a base for each cocoa bomb.
Place one cocoa bomb on the white chocolate base you just made and let it dry until it hardens. Next, take your bag filled with melted milk chocolate and snip off a small end of the tip of your bag. Make two eyes and use five small dots to make the mouth.
Take a small dot of white chocolate and stick the orange sprinkle on the face to make the nose. Let that dry and after 10 minutes, draw the ear muffs line across the top of the cocoa bomb and then stick the two green or red candy pieces on each side to make the earmuffs. Let dry for 30 minutes. Then serve and enjoy!
Hint: Be sure to be careful when melting the cocoa shell half to fuse. Only leave it on the heat until it’s just melted. You don’t want to melt the shell away.

Tips
On the whole, this is a very easy recipe. The hot cocoa is storebought, and the other ingredients are very basic. The only thing you might run into is trying to seal the shells. We have some tips to help make the entire process easier on you and ensure you make the best snowman bombs possible.
Don’t Cover Your Chocolate – Most people are so used to covering dishes when they microwave them that they might cover the chocolate as it’s melting. Don’t! If any condensation whatsoever gets into your chocolate, it will seize and ruin.
Heating the Shell Edges – When placing the bottom of your shells in the pan to melt the edge, remember that you only need the edge to melt just enough to be soft. Don’t leave your shells in place too long or too much will melt away and they won’t fit together correctly.
Always Chill Between Steps – Always chill your cocoa bombs between steps to ensure that the chocolate has set. You don’t want your bombs falling apart while you work.

FAQ
If you have questions about these snowman hot cocoa bombs, don’t worry. We’ve got answers. This FAQ answers all the most common questions about hot cocoa bombs.
What’s the difference between hot cocoa and hot chocolate?
Hot cocoa is made from a powder created by applying high heat to cacao beans which is then mixed into hot water or milk. On the other hand, hot chocolate is made from actual real milk or dark chocolate that’s been shaved, chopped, or ground and then melted and combined with hot milk or water.
How long are these bombs good?
In general, these bombs will last for up to six months when stored in an air-tight container in a cool, dry place.
Why won’t my bombs fit together?
You probably melted the edge too much when you were preparing to seal your bombs. If you melt away too much of the shell, it won’t fit. But they will still taste delicious!
Why are my shells so fragile?
You may not have allowed enough chocolate to stay in the silicone shell. Pouring off the chocolate too soon can result in a thin shell.
Do I pour the liquid over the bomb or put the bomb in the liquid?
Either way works. It’s all a matter of personal preference.
