Creamy Marsala Chicken Bake starts out with boneless chicken breasts and fresh sliced mushrooms.

We always have a freezer full of boneless chicken breast in our freezer. We buy it when it’s on sale. So we are well stocked!

We buy everything on sale that we can fit in our extra freezer. Buy the time we start to run low on something whether it’s chicken, ground beef or pork. This is another sale. We never pay full price for anything.

Then we make a sauce with  cream of chicken soup, cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, marsala wine and some spices. We pour that over the chicken and believe it or not your almost done!

Can you use chicken thighs instead of chicken breasts?

You can! We prefer chicken breasts for this dish but if your truly a chicken thigh lover you can use those if you like.

Creamy Baked chicken Casserole

Creamy Marsala Chicken Bake is a tried and true recipe that we have been making forever. Basically this is a creamy baked chicken casserole. It is easy, comforting and delicious.

We have substituted cream of celery in a pinch for one of the soups. I mean almost anything could work I suppose depending on your taste.

The important thing here is the sour cream and marsala wine. And if you don’t want the Marsala wine you can leave it out and use chicken broth. The flavor will be different. You can use white wine if you like. We love Marsala. It gives it a perfect flavor.
